Mixed Criticality
Mixed Criticality Systems
Synopsis
Industry is facing new challenges with the integration of multiple applications with different levels of criticality within the same system. We are building upon our results for mixed-criticality systems and developing scheduling techniques to respect timing constraints of high criticality tasks and to recover from unexpected behaviours. We are also building analysis and design tools that enable a safe integration of applications of different criticalities in the same computing platform, eventually facilitating their certification.
Leadership & Achievements
CISTER is one of the core members of EMC2, the largest European project in the area of mixed-criticality systems.
Luís Miguel Pinho will co-chair the Workshop on Mixed Criticality for Industrial Systems (WMCIS'2014), together with Laurent George (LIGM/UPEMLV, France). This year, WMCIS'2014 is held in conjunction with the 19th International Conference on Reliable Software Technologies (Ada-Europe 2014).
Luís Miguel Pinho and Laurent George are also organizing a special issue of the Elsevier Journal of System Architecture, on the topic of Mixed Criticalities.
